Frederick J. Chiaventone - the 13th
Count of Castel Vecchia and probably the finest
contemporary American novelist writing about
Native Americans and the Western frontier. His
first book A Road We Do Not Know: A Novel of
Custer at the Little Big Horn, Paul
acquired, edited and published at Simon &
Schuster. A Road We Do Not Know was
recently chosen by Little Big Horn Associates as
the best novel ever written about George
Armstrong Custer and the Battle of the Little
Big Horn. It is currently in print in a trade
paperback edition published by the University of
New Mexico Press. Fred's original screenplay
Beatrice has been optioned for the movies.
Fred's new
novel, Absaroka: A Novel of
the American West at War,
will be published in 2001 by Tor/Forge,
America's largest publisher of
historical fiction.

one of Ireland's most distinguished writers and
